Vandejong & Fabrique!

27 October 2010

File 349

We started a special collaboration with Fabrique. For the National History Museum we work on the concept and implementation of ‘Places in Holland’. Every year The National History Museum marks around 50 historic locations throughout The Netherlands in collaborations with local organizations and local authorities. The history of these places will be presented in an innovative way, physical and digital. How exactly? That’s what we're figuring out with Fabrique at the moment.

‘Places in Holland’ starts in Spring 2011. The first 45 locations are already announced.

Portrait Pavilion Duivenvoorde

19 October 2010

File 346

At Castle Duivenvoorde Cyril presents her portrait in the ‘Portrait Pavilion’. In the temporary pavilion old masterpieces are confronted with modern portraits. Cyril shows her own Facebook-profile and the profiles of other visitors and thereby she focuses on how people portrait themselves online. On Facebook she says: ‘It shows the best of me, or at least how I want others to perceive me. Possibly the best of this digital profile is that I can change and polish it every day. By freezing the pages in time we create our portrait of today which we cannot longer twist and turn. Is it worthy of displaying in our living room?’

So, hang your profile on the wall. How does it look?

This Saturday October 23rd part two of the Portrait Pavilion – Facebook avant la lettre in Castle Duivenvoorde. Check the programme here.

File 344

An awesome challenge for our (formal) graphic designer Merel. Merel is going to design for the studio of Sara de Bondt in London. After her study at the Rietveld Academy Merel works at one of the creative trainee positions for a period of 6 months. We are charmed about Merel’s work and decide to ad her to the permanent team of Vandejong. We follow Merel via her website and wish her the best of luck with her new job!

What do you think?

6 October 2010

File 341

Together with the University of Twente we are working on the bachelor-campaign for future students. This year we do a comprehensive inquiry about 6VWO, 6VWO is the last year of pre-university education in the Dutch educational system. We ask 6VWO students how they see their future: what are you going to do with the world? Do you see a future for spacetourism or for cradle to cradle? what would you like to study?
